Hi, I’m Naomi

Registered Psychotherapist, MACP, MBA

Naomi Midanik

I’m a former corporate high achiever turned therapist

And as an entrepreneur, working mom, and breast cancer survivor, I’ve had a front-row seat to the highs, lows, and everything-in-between of trying to thrive — in and outside of work.

Before opening my therapy practice, I spent 17 years in marketing leadership across consumer-packaged goods, banking, and the nonprofit world. I know what it’s like to navigate team dynamics, office politics, and impossible deadlines. What I loved most about that time was being the person colleagues came to when they needed to talk something through, get perspective, or figure out what was next.

I made my career change during the pandemic, while leading a large team remotely and parenting two kids under four. It became impossible to ignore how big the gap was between mental health support and the realities of work—there just weren’t enough therapists who got it.

So I decided to become the therapist I’d been looking for—someone who could bridge those worlds. I earned my Master’s in Counseling Psychology part-time while working, parenting, and navigating the pandemic. Not long after, Bright Balance Psychotherapy was born—a space built on the belief that work and wellbeing can actually coexist.

A few months later, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.I kept working through treatment—running my new practice, showing up for clients, and learning in real time what it means to balance care for others with care for myself. That period taught me a different kind of resilience—the kind that’s less about pushing through and more about finding new ways to rest, adapt, and still show up.

Today, as both a therapist and an entrepreneur, I help professionals feel more grounded, resilient, and purposeful in their work and their lives. Whether it’s burnout, anxiety, or self-doubt—or figuring out what truly matters—I bring the perspective of someone who’s been in the trenches (both professionally and personally), and combine it with evidence-based therapy to help you move forward.

I’d love to hear your story and see how we can work together.
